Kunsthalle Basel 2016
Der 1919 gegründete Kunstkredit Basel-Stadt fördert mit einem alljährlich ausgeschriebenen Wettbewerbsprogramm die zeitgenössische bildende Kunst. Jeweils im Herbst veranstaltet er eine Ausstellung der im laufenden Jahr angekauften Kunstwerke. Ziel ist der Aufbau und die Bewahrung sowie die Erforschung und Vermittlung der Kunstsammlung, die aktuell mehr als fünftausend Werke umfasst. Die Ausstellung wird seit 2013 extern kuratiert.
Founded in 1919, the Kunstkredit Basel-Stadt promotes contemporary visual arts through an annual competition program. Every autumn, an exhibition of the works of art purchased in the current year is organized. The aim is to build up and preserve as well as to research and communicate the art collection, which currently comprises more than five thousand works. The exhibition has been externally curated since 2013.
